New Patent for Online Loyalty Program Awarded, Trilegiant Loyalty Solutions Builds on Base from Netcentives

RICHMOND, VA. – June 10, 2003 — Trilegiant Loyalty Solutions (TLS), a leading provider of loyalty programs, has received a new patent for the on-line delivery of various incentive and loyalty programs.

Earlier today, the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted to Trilegiant Corporation, the parent company of TLS, U.S. Patent Number 6,578,012, entitled “Fully Integrated, On-line Interactive Frequency and Award Redemption Program.”

The new patent supplements patents relating to the online delivery of incentive and loyalty programs that were originally issued to Netcentives. Trilegiant purchased these patents at auction in December 2001 and they have been widely licensed to entities providing online incentive or loyalty services. “We`re very pleased that we can continue to build upon the valuable portfolio of patents that we acquired from Netcentives,” TLS President Marti Beller said. “These patents help us to continue in our role as a leader in the incentive and loyalty industry while providing an enhanced level of business certainty for our client base.”

Trilegiant is also actively continuing to defend its patents from infringement. The company is currently suing Orbitz, LLC for infringing on these patents in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.
